Remaining open will be the branches located at the following locations where Jewel is assuming ownership, 1340 Patriot Blvd, Glenview, 1340 South Canal Street, Chicago (South Loop) and 14200 South Bell Road, Homer Glen. According to Chase, most of the 200 employees will be placed at other locations. The bank currently has 394 branches within Chicagoland and will be down to 348 after the closures. They are the dominant bank in the region with a 24% share of the deposit market according to statistics published by the FDIC. The next closest competitor is Harris Banks with a 12.4% market share.

Chase will be moving deposits to nearby branches located within a mile of each existing Dominick’s store. There are three exceptions, Bartlett, Elk Grove and a branch in Naperville where according to Chase “pop-up’ branches will be created to service those customers.
